Thirteen of Kochi Tuskers Kerala’s Indian players will hit the straps in the first-ever training camp for the Indian Premier League debutants under the watchful eyes of their Australian coach Geoff Lawson, who paid a quick visit to the venue on Friday.

Those slated to attend the camp on the inaugural day include internationals Rudra Pratap Singh, Ravindra Jadeja, Ramesh Powar and R Vinay Kumar, domestic cricketers Chandan Madan, Deepak Chowghule, Sushant Marathe, Tanmay Srivastava and Yashpal Singh, alongside Kerala captain Raiphi Vincent Gomez and fellow Ranji Trophy star P Prashanth.

Senior players V V S Laxman and Parthiv Patel, along with the others, are expected to join the camp later.

Seven players, including captain Mahela Jayawardene, S Sreesanth, Brendon McCullum, Muttiah Muralitharan, Thisara Perera, Steven Smith and John Hastings, have been on duty for their respective nations in the world cup. The IPL Governing Council had released a list of 27 players signed by the KTK the other day. The Tuskers are scheduled to play Royal Challengers Bangalore in the opening encounter on April 9. The team had set up office at the stadium the other day.
